Selling Online Step 1

One of the first decisions you have to make is what are you going to sell? Is it a product or a service? Is it animal or vegetable?

Are you going to sell it as one payment or as several payments?

Selling Online Step 2

Are you going to design it or are you going to have someone else do it for you? If someone ese is going to design it, do you know who it is or do you have to find someone?

Two recommendations are: free listings of people providing services and you can put up a free request for services. - an online service that has people that will do anything you can imagine including web design, script and software development, article writing and lots more. I've been using them for years and have been very successful with most of my projects.

Discover How to Start Selling Online

I know it's incredibly confusing if you're just getting started online. I was there a while ago and it's taken me a long time to absorb the information and figure out how to use it. Hosting, Domain Registration, Web Development, Search Engine Optimization, Merchant Accounts, and the list goes on.

I've prepared a tutorial that will take you step-by-step through the process. I'll tell you more about that in a minute.

First, let me tell you more about how easy it is to set up your shopping cart at 1cartplus. You can get started in just a few minutes using our "5 Minute Setup". It takes you through all the steps you need to get your cart set up. Here's a link to the video tutorial for the "5 minute setup".

Once you've got the cart set up,  you can start selling. It's that simple. One area that may cause a delay, but not a significant one, is getting your merchant account set up. If you don't have a merchant account, here are three options that will get you started in very short order:

  • Get a traditional merchant account through With a traditional merchant account your customer has a "normal" check out through the cart. offers e-check as well as traditional credit cards. We work with because most of our clients use it and they are very flexible in terms of their operations. You can learn more about and sign up for here.

  • Get a PayPal Account. This is the grand daddy of the online accounts. They have services that Google Checkout doesn't offer, at least as of the time of this writing. There are several options available through at PayPal. You can learn more about and sign up for PayPal  here.

As I mentioned earlier, I've prepared a series of reports that will support you in getting started selling online. You'll find information that will "jump start" you entry into selling online.

You can sign up here to receive it by email. It will be delivered over a period of time so you can absorb the information and take action on it. One of the things I've learned, the hard way, is if you have too much information at one time it can be as bad as not having enough information. Sign up for the beginners course.

Do You Already Have a Web Site and A Product or Products To Sell?
